“King’s Yellow” Pearly Orpiment Chunk OM04R

Lodging itself firmly in Roman and Chinese histories, Orpiment was once a trading commodity and was used as a pigment in painting and sealing wax. Exhibiting a brilliant canary yellow to a rich lemon hue, Orpiment is closely associated with red Realgar, as is evident by the bright red within, with Orpiment being the more stable of the two.

Occurring in earthy masses, Orpiment dazzles with its bright and shiny surface, displaying a glitter of yellow mixed with hints of orange and red. Our Orpiment specimens have been carved according to its cleavage to showcase its shine, and to fit in its own display case to minimise further handling.

A Leo birthstone, Orpiment works with the Solar Plexus Chakra, promoting growth and stimulating intellect. Being a catalyst for the development of ideas, it aids in understanding and removing mental blocks.

P.S: While it’s not going to pose a health hazard sitting on a shelf, it’s recommended that you wash your hands after handling it.
