Botryoidal Chalcedony Pseudomorph after Fossils from Morocco AP08

With a tradename as attention-grabbing as “Alien Poop”, the actual name does not disappoint as well. These are actually ancestral specimens from as long as 34 to 100 million years ago! They result from the pseudomorphs of bubbly sponge silica fossils, which gives it an appearance not found anywhere in the world! 

From a 2016 find, Crystamour is featuring white and black nodular, multi-generational growth of Quartz var. Chalcedony with some visible crystallisation. Unmatched in its formation, one can observe the layering in every specimen. Under longwave UV, they fluorescence a gentle orange, and when backlit, one can admire the warm golden internal colours. The exact reason as to what constitutes the brown and white remains a mystery, but it has been theorized that it could be due to the underlying silica fossils. Nonetheless, it is not everyday that the common Chalcedony is elevated to such a prestigious level.
