Cubic Purple Fluorite from Illinois USA IFL23

The Cave-In-Rock Mining Sub-District in Illinois is renowned for producing some of the world's finest Fluorites. These Fluorites come in a variety of growths and formations, making them highly sought after by collectors. 

One type of Fluorite found in here  is the clear purple Fluorite with dark purple phantom layers. This unique formation creates a mesmerizing effect, where the dark purple phantom layers appear to float within the clear purple Fluorite. Some specimens have “spot phantoms”, where it looks as if a bubble of phantom just exploded like a balloon. These form as a result of small, locally embedded radioactive particles that excite the electrons of some Fluorite molecules nearby and result in a persistent "smoky" effect. This distributed pinpoint phenomenon in fluorite is one of the rarest phenomenon one can find!

In addition to their unique formations, some Fluorites have Chalcopyrite associations, both on and in them. This adds an extra layer of complexity and interest to the specimens, making them even more valuable. 

Metaphysically, Fluorite promotes focus, intuition and understanding. It helps to bring chaos into order, promoting stability, free thinking and clear unbiased reasoning. Fluorite also helps to draw away negative energy and stress, and is an excellent learning aid.⁠⁠
