Purple Fluorite on Botryoidal Chalcedony from Mexico FL453R
Intuition, Rearrangement, Impartial
With a locality named after a national hero, mineral specimens from this locality are nothing short of amazing.
A 2021 find that took the world by storm due to its unique combination of baby purple Fluorite cubes and botryoidal Quartz var. Chalcedony, these specimens have affectionately been given a tradename of “Spirit Flower Geodes”; a dissection of the specimens reveal why.
Lining the brittle matrix is a mix of botryoidal Chalcedony and minute purple Fluorite clusters. The purple is accentuated by the white-blue of Chalcedony, and overall gives a very gentle aesthetic. Part of the chalcedony is fluorescent, giving out colour combinations of green or blue under longwave UV. The Fluorite clusters are best appreciated under a loupe, where the clear defined structure of each cube leaves you wanting for more. Hours can be lost while immersed in these find specimens.
Parts of the Chalcedony have been said to be phosphorescent, absorbing the light and reemitting it at a longer wavelength of various colours: however, it differs from specimen to specimen.
Metaphysically, Fluorite promotes focus, intuition and understanding. It helps to bring chaos into order, promoting stability, free thinking and clear unbiased reasoning. Fluorite also helps to draw away negative energy and stress, and is an excellent learning aid.
