Balance, Healer, Amplify

Out of all the possible formations and habits that a Quartz can be found in, one of the rarest and most sought-after is the Japan Law Twin formation. The only twinning law of Quartz where the two twin crystals are visible as individuals, the particular cleavage between crystals has left collectors crazy for more.

Usually tabular, the twin Quartz crystals meet at an angle of 84°33', just slightly under 90°, forming what looks like a heart or a “V”. Crystals are not considered Japan Law Twins unless their c-axes intersect at the very specific angle of 84°33', with two of the m-prism faces of both crystals parallel to each other.

Japan Law Twin is also known as Weiss Law Twin, La Gardette Law Twin, and Twinning Crystal Quartz. The main market name (Japan Law) comes from the exceptionally high end specimens that come out of Japan, even though this mineral was originally discovered in La Gardette, France. This is where the original name (La Gardette Law Twin) came from and occurred in 1829 by a German mineralogist named Mr. Weiss.

Japan Law Twin shares the same energy of all Quartz crystals. As one continues to work with this unique mineral, they will see the enhancement and enlightenment they receive as they channel the benefits of the twins. Quartz is considered a "Master Healer", said to amplify energy by absorbing, storing, releasing, and regulating it.

As clear quartz is of a balancing nature, it is usually paired with other crystals to aid and enhance their abilities.
